Privacy Policy — Outflow

Outflow ("the app") is an offline expense tracker. We designed it so that your financial data never leaves your device. This policy explains what that means in practice.

1. Information we collect

None. The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal or financial information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. Your expense data never leaves your device.

2. Data stored on your device

Everything you enter — expense entries, categories, recurring items, and your settings — is stored only in the app's local storage on your device. It is never uploaded anywhere and is not accessible to us or any third party. If you uninstall the app or use "Erase all data", this data is permanently removed.

3. Backups you create

The app lets you export a backup file (.json) so you can move your data to a new device. That file is created on your device and shared only to wherever you choose (for example your own storage, a chat app, or a cloud drive of your choosing). We never receive, see, or store this file.

4. Permissions

The app requests no permissions that access personal data — no location, no contacts, no camera. It does declare the internet permission, and it is used for exactly one thing: letting Google Play confirm whether you own the Pro unlock (see section 5). Nothing about your expenses is sent over it. Device file access is used only at the moment you choose to export or restore a backup, to save or read the file you selected.

5. Purchases (Outflow Pro)

Outflow Pro is an optional one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details — Google processes the payment and only tells the app whether this Google account owns the unlock. That check is the app's only network activity, and it carries no information about your expenses. Google's own privacy policy covers how Google handles the transaction.

6. Third-party services

The app contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking SDKs. The only Google component included is the Play Billing library described in section 5.

7. Children's privacy

Because the app collects no data at all, it is safe for users of any age. We do not knowingly collect information from children (or anyone).

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
